With the large openings in these wheels, it is very noticable. Hopefully when these wear down they do not get as loud as the factory shoes were.My one point of displeasure about the experience was that the installer appears to have used a die-grinder to remove the wheel weight tape residue, and in the process also removed a few square inches of paint off the inside of the wheel. Those old tires were obnoxiously LOUD on the freeway. They are much quieter than the stockers, which should be expected for new tires compared to old, but a relief just the same. I haven't noticed any rubbing at extreme wheel lock either, so they appear to clear everything.I am very happy with the tires. I wouldn't go much wider with this wheel width, but I think they look pretty good. I was worried that these would be too wide. ![]() IMHO the stock donuts were a little narrow for the stock wheels. I have to say that they look really good on the car. Since winter is here, and my original skins were pretty bald, I couldn't wait for them, so I ended up going with the Continental Extreme Contact DWS in 235/40R18 size. so just to close out this post, I intended to be the guinnea-pig and try the 225/45R18 tires on my car, but that size of the tire I wanted was on a long backorder. Your thoughts on those? Thanks in advance for your feedback. I'm considering Conti Extreme Contact DWS's or Yokohama YK580's as replacements. ![]() The car is really loud on the freeway, and I'm hoping it's the tires. I was not a fan of the tires though, and I'm glad they are almost gone. As far as the tires themselves, I got 40K out of the stock Goodyears, which is pretty good. I figured the larger diameter will provide a little extra sidewall, and soften the ride up a tad. These Michigan roads are pulverizing the poor car. I have always thougth the car rides way too stiff for it's sporting credentials (or lack thereof). I was considering changing to 225/45R18 which would be slightly larger diameter, but would only throw the speedo off by less than 1mph at 60mph which I can live with. The guy at Discount tire says 235/40R18's are "approved" (I assume that means they have confirmed no clearance issues). I am due for some new skins, and wondering if anyone runs a different size than stock, and if so what are your thoughts.Stock size is 215/45R18. ![]() Shay’s Honesty Box: I had been eyeing up the park rocker for a while, definitely a board that was built for fun. I can see why a lot of people might not like it, but man if you are up for a soft rocker…this is it. It could turn on groomers, but this is not a freeride board…it’s not as stable at high speeds and it will turn but it’s not a board you’d take in a boardercross. If you can’t press or butter, this board is the easiest I have rode to do it. All around it’s a park rocker board, just like the name. The park rocker needed more help in pow cause it’s a softer board but even in the deep stuff it had float…just had to make sure the board didn’t buck you in the float. It has a lot of rocker making it very easy to butter/press and it does float in pow. Overall Impression: It’s soft, no surprise there. Switch: Easy to maneuver into switch and same flex, sidecut so easy to ride switch with. Pop: I played with the pop on the side of a mini pipe and off small rollers, its a poppy board but also I can see how you’d be cautious taking off jumps…which I didn’t do, just off rollers. It wasn’t as stable as pow specific boards but this is a park rocker, it will float but the softer flex isn’t meant for all out pow riding either. I took the park rocker through some NW powder turns where it floated, the softer flex made me more aware of making sure it didn’t go under and I didn’t lose control. There’s a point where it’s no turning back, but if you can hold the press it’s seriously way off above the snow. Stable: I was very careful the first time I tried a tail press, knowing fully that it would be easier than I needed to put effort into it. It is able to carve and the softer flex holds surprisingly but I wasn’t bombing carves with it either. It did hold an edge on some groomed runs. It was also very predictable with the sidecut, no surprises, no aggressive turns…very mellow turning and nothing to throw you off during a turn. Turning: In terms of turning, very easy ride to initiate. Definitely for higher speeds, not as stable…but I also take into consideration I was riding a smaller size than normal. It’s easy to tail and nose press, I’m still amazed by the flex of this board but it’s not a board that will remind you of bronco riding, it is still manageable when riding. It’s a soft park specific board, it’s soft. Setup: I rode the Signal Park Rocker with Union Forces and my Rome Vamps size 8.įirst Impression: This is the most playful softest board I’ve ridden.įlex: A picture is worth a 1,000 words so please see the 2nd picture down below. Snow Conditions: Snowing with powder on runs, some groomed areas. I’ll update this link to that when it goes live. This review was done through Board Insiders and will be featured on their site as a review with video of me explaining the board and riding it. ![]() Mac Pilot 3 is priced at 19.95 and is available for download at the Koingo Software Web. As you eyeball your plate, at the face of it, it’s some gruesome culinary prank. The mere mention of names such as “Greenland” or “Iceland” literally sends chills down the backs of my arms. If a herd of caribou runs past your view and you are dressed in a sealskin coat with a fur-lined hood to protect against biting winds that would freeze your exposed skin in a matter of minutes, you don’t need a map to know that you are in the Arctic. It is the end product of a recipe of elements mixed together in its own special brew of inhospitable landscapes, midnight sun, iconic wildlife, sparse habitation. More than anything else, the Arctic is a place defined by its characteristics rather than the precise location of an artificial line on a globe. And the same for Greenland, that massive chunk of ice that lies partly above and partly below the Arctic Circle–surely, the residents of Nuuk on its southwestern border would be thoroughly off ended to learn that their home was not part of “the Arctic.” By sheer dint of its name alone, you have to concede that Iceland is part of the Arctic. But that sterile definition hardly does justice to what we instinctively know to be “the Arctic.” In our gut, we know that Iceland is truly an “Arctic” land, even though that imaginary circle just barely grazes its most northern edge near the town of Raufarhöfn. Technically speaking, it embraces that portion of the Earth that lies above an imaginary circle parallel to the equator and 66˚34′ north of it. However, they will still have a lot to talk about because there is always that serious side to Gemini in one of their personalities that will have a thing or two to share with a strict and sometimes difficult Capricorn. Although this is not actually the case, this is how it may seem to Capricorn, reliant on traditional values and always taking responsibility for their actions. With Gemini, they feel like taking care of a child heading for trouble, getting naked wherever they feel like it. In order for Capricorn to experiment in sex, their partner needs to manage to really relax them and open their mind.
